INSIDE TASKS:
- Ceiling Fans: During the spring/summer months the fan blades should be reversed (blades turning counter-clockwise) to help push cool air down.
- A/C: Have your heating system checked by a professional to make sure everything is on point for the warmer weather. Wipe down your air vents and registers.
- Air Filters: Change out your filter. Check your owner’s manual to see how often your furnace filter needs to be changed.
- Water Heater: Flush out your water heater. It’s recommended to do this yearly depending on usage. Check your owner’s manual to see what the manufacturer suggests.
- Smoke Detectors: Change all batteries and check smoke and CO detectors
- Filter: Clean Filter over the stove
- Refrigerator Coils: Move the refrigerator and vacuum around coils
- Showerheads: Unscrew showerheads and aerators and clean sediment
OUTSIDE TASKS:
- Gutters: Clean gutters and downspouts and make sure both are free of leaves and debris, allowing water to run properly.
- Inspect air conditioning unit for trash and debris.
- Replace gas in all fuel burning lawn mowers/trimmers
- Roof: Inspect roof. Check for shingles that are curling, missing, or broken.
- Garbage/Recycling Bins: Wash out your garbage and recycling bins periodically to prevent pest intrusion.
- Trees/Bushes: Trim trees and bushes away from home.
- Decks: Check and inspect decks. Check deck for loose rails and weathered boards and steps
- Yard: Make sure to get fallen leaves off of grass so it doesn’t kill grass.
- Yard: Put out spring fertilizer.
- Caulk; Check caulk around windows and doors
- Dryer Vent: Check to make sure dyer vent is not clogged and is venting properly.
